Falstaff – Studio of Louis Sterling

Each composition is crafted at Falstaff, a small music room tucked away in the Somerset countryside, just 90 minutes west of central London. The space is thoughtfully designed to embrace a wide spectrum of contemporary music genres, from ambient to classical and electroacoustic works.

At its heart lies a 19th-century German grand piano, acquired by Brian Horstmann of the Welsh National Opera (1932–2023). Accompanying the grand piano are two Yamaha HS8 active studio monitors, a Saffire 6 USB interface, a Korg Minilogue polyphonic analog synthesizer, various keyboards, x2 Akai APC 40 MIDI controllers, an Elektron Digitakt Sequencer + Sampler and a selection of string and instruments, including a classical Spanish, electroacoustic, and electric guitars, along with a saxophone and flute.

Together, these instruments allows us to create a limitless space for musical experimentation and expression tailored to the creative vision of our collaborators.

Once the composition process is complete, the works are transported and recorded at Tileyard. This phase emphasises recording, mixing, and mastering our tracks to meet industry specifications across both stereo and Dolby Atmos before final delivery.
